HAND WASHING
We recommend always hand washing your LUVHOME's silk in cool water - this will preserve the life of the garment and the saturation of its color.

We're not suggesting you stop washing your silk pieces altogether, but you probably don't need to wash them as much as you think you do. Try spot cleaning them where needed and then airing them - silk is a beautifully breathable, natural fibre and so managing your pieces in this way will prolong the time you can go between washes. Of course, it's also much better for the planet!

We recommend using a specialist silk detergent.

MACHINE WASH
In reality, we know from experience these items can sometimes end up in the machine. We don't recommend you wash your silk product this way, but if you trust your washing machine and usually wash your delicates in it, these are our tips.

It is very important that you use a specialist silk detergent.

Non-specialist detergents often contain harsh chemicals that can damage the colour and finish of silk and cashmere garments.

Please choose a gentle 'hand wash' cycle and set the temperature to cold if there is no staining, up to 20℃ if there are light stains and 30℃ if there are any stubborn marks. Never wash delicate fabrics over 30℃. The cooler the water the longer the silk will last and the better it will feel coming out of the machine. Avoid using any stain removers.

AIR DRYING & IRONING
Hang your silks to air dry and never put any of your silk product in the tumble dryer.

Iron or steam your silk product to restore lustre and sheen to the silk. Use your iron's delicate or lowest heat setting.

Iron on the reverse side of your garment. If you need to iron directly on the front, place a cotton cloth over the area to protect the silk.

HAND WASHING
We recommend always hand washing your LUVHOME's lyocell / triacetate in cool water - this will preserve the life of the garment and the saturation of its color.

Add mild detergent to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water.

Submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes.

Rinse well by running cool water through the item until the water is no longer soapy.

Do not wring. Instead, press the water out of the item.

MACHINE WASH
 Yes! Our lyocell / triacetate products can be machine washed. Here are the wash tips:

We recommend skipping fabric softener. Why? It's not great for the finish of the fabric, and sometimes deposits a waxy residue on fabric that can cause discoloration, strange spots, or change in texture.

Be sure to always wash your lyocell clothing in cold water and on gentle cycle.

Place Garments Into Mesh Bag
Prevent snagging from zippers of embellishments on other clothes by placing the lyocell or triacetate garment in a mesh bag before adding it to the washer. Turn the item inside out for extra protection before putting it in the bag.

Load and Set the Washing Machine
Don't overload the washer. Choose the gentle cycle, cold water, and a reduced-speed spin cycle. Too much agitation and high-speed spinning can produce excessive wrinkles that can be very difficult to remove from lyocell and triacetate fabrics.

AIR DRYING & IRONING
When it comes to drying, it’s important to also treat your lyocell / triacetate pieces as gently as possible. Don’t use a tumble-dryer and opt for hang-drying.

Since Lyocell / triacetate doesn’t wrinkle easily, it rarely requires ironing. This is a big plus. To soften your lyocell / triacetate garment, it is recommended to steam them using a gentle steamer. This will also help with wrinkles and will make your garments look and feel as good as new!

In fact, taking care of it is easier than it seems. Cotton & linen fabric can be washed in a washing machine or hand washed using regular washing detergent. It even dries faster than most other fabrics!

HAND WASHING
Cotton/linen garments can be prone to shrinking when they are washed and dried. To try and stop this happening: If you have an item that you know is prone to more than 10% shrinkage, hand wash it in cold water.

If you decide to hand-wash your cotton/linen pieces, use lots of water, as linen tends to absorb great amounts of it.

Hand-wash is best for thin cotton/linen fabrics, which could get damaged in the washing machine.

During the first wash, it is best to use a temperature lower than 40°C.

Rinse the linen carefully. Do not twist, crumple, or rub the fabric hard – it can result in damage.

Always air dry: dry clothes flat and out of the sun if possible.

MACHINE WASH
Cotton/linen is machine-washable. If yours allows, choose the highest possible water level.

 Cotton/linen should be washed at 40°C. If some heavy-duty stains appear, you can increase the temperature up to 60°C. However, high temperatures shouldn’t be used too often as linen tends to shrink.

 Cotton/linen should be washed separately from other fabrics and colors.

 Do not overload the washing machine. Overloading can result in pieces of laundry intertwining with each other, twisting, and changing their original shape.

AIR DRYING & IRONING
Cotton or linen can be dried in a tumble dryer at a low temperature, hung, or left to dry flat on a white towel. To avoid bigger wrinkles and to maintain the normal shape of your cotton/linen piece, it is best to flat dry it. Arrange your linen on a flat surface and let it dry naturally. When you hang cotton/linen on a hanging rack, bigger creases may form in places where the hanging line goes. Also, this may cause cotton/linen to stretch as the water travels to the bottom and weighs down the edges of the pieces.

If using a tumble dryer, take the cotton/linen out when it’s still damp and complete drying by hanging it or laying it flat on a white towel.

If possible, allow white cotton/linen pieces to dry out in the sun. It will help to maintain fresh whiteness.

Do not overdry cotton/linen as it can weaken or shrink the fabric.

For the best result, iron the pieces while they are still a bit damp.

Use medium or high temperatures and steam. If needed, you can also spray some water on the fabric.

⭐If you like the natural, slightly crinkled look of linen, you can skip the ironing. Spraying some water on the biggest wrinkles will help to even them out slightly. Simply lay your linen piece on a flat surface, spray some water, and even out with your hand. Allow to dry.
